  Provides leadership, program and event planning and project management for the following organizations:

    • Various community events i.e. Native Hip-Hop fundraiser, Foster Care Family Support Events and Community Appreciation Dinner.

     PROGRAM DIRECTOR (2005—2012)

  City of Redmond, Parks and Recreation — The Old Fire House, Redmond, WA

  • Responsible for strategic planning, program development, venue operations management, budgets, marketing and public relations, grant writing and contract negotiations.

  • Created and maintained partnerships and collaborations with the school district, police department, business community, arts commission, parks board and other like organizations to meet the recreational and educational needs of Redmond area teens.

  • Responsible for hiring, training including compliance and safety/emergency procedures, crisis management procedures, scheduling and supervising all paid and volunteer staff.

 

     DIRECTOR OF FACILITY OPERATIONS AND EVENTS (2004—2005)  

  Premier Event Center, Seattle, WA

  • Oversaw operations and supervision of a 2000 capacity event facility with kitchen, bar and event spaces. Events included concerts, auctions, corporate and multi-cultural events.

  • Lead large-scale concert production including several bar areas, private events with in-house catering, and VIP client relations. Some artists included: Alice in Chains, The Chemical Brothers, HIM and OAR. Clients included: Nintendo, Microsoft, Starbucks, One Reel, AEGLive and Entercom Communications.

  • Managed production staff, artist relations, VIP spaces, concessions, box office sales, inventory, ordering, client billing, security teams and compliance with Washington State Liquor Control Board.

     EDUCATION PROJECT MANAGER, PUBLIC PROGRAMS CURATOR (2000—2002)

  Experience Music Project (EMP), Seattle, WA

  • Produced themed events, conferences multi-day music festivals, concerts, film screenings, workshops, lectures/panels and demonstrations. Attendance up to 10,000.

  • Developed world-class, hands-on educational programs including on-site artist-led workshops, master classes, lectures and film series and other performance and classroom-based educational activities.

  • Booked the “Guest Artist” series for Experience Arts Camp connecting young people with masters of contemporary music, art, film, drama and creative technology.

 

     DIRECTOR OF MUSIC EVENTS AND PROGRAMS (1994—2000)         

  Ground Zero Teen Center / Bellevue Boys’ and Girls’ Club, Bellevue, WA

  • Developed nationally recognized Ground Zero Music Program; which set the standard blueprint for all the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America alternative youth centers. Coordinated and bolstered partnerships with public schools, cities, non-profit agencies, local police departments, music industry and media.

  • Booked, promoted and supervised concerts and special events. Managed curriculum, teachers, students, staff and volunteers for classes and workshops.

  • Supervised, recruited and facilitated the Advisory Board, which gave specific direction and focus to the arts, music, educational and career opportunities at Ground Zero.
